The three students who asked for extensions on their final projects for my class had to to turn in their papers by 5PM yesterday. Mondays I'm not in the office because it's data collection day. So I just picked up the three papers. Two, after a cursory glance, look like they're supposed to. The third however, came in a BOX--and with BOOKS. There is also a small note attached from the student saying:

Dr. [insert my last name here],
I am enclosing some books for you to read to go with the paper since you don't know much about [insert name of topic] and so I didn't have to write a lit review. That could have been five pages or so.

I will pick up the books and paper next semester when I come to campus for my first class.
